Nino Trindade's exhibition at the MANOEUVRE Gallery

Nino Trindade's exhibition "As Naturezas" (Natures) will be inaugurated today, 7 July, at 5pm, at the MANOEUVRE Gallery in Matosinhos, and will remain on display until 17 July.

Nino Trindade is a Mozambican artist, and his artworks are included in the MANOEUVRE collection. He is also a part of the core group of artists directly supported by our movement, which fundamentally focuses on promoting and advocating for African art. Between April and July of this year, 2023, Nino Trindade undertook an artistic residency in Matosinhos, where MANOEUVRE is based, and the vast majority of the artworks featured in this exhibition, "As Naturezas" (Natures), are the result of this recent artistic endeavour. It consists of seven sculptures, plus two painting collages: nine artworks that look at us without hesitation, calling for particular attention.

Engaging in both sculpture and painting, Nino Trindade advocates for emotion as the level that will be responsible for calibrating art: before and after, in other words, as a presupposition that nourishes creation, to then become a compass that guides the reception of the works.

Nino Trindade says that he engages in the act of creation and then distances himself from the artwork. However, we now extend an invitation to all those who are interested to explore these 9 pieces on display.
